The month of June will be MJ SLAM MONTH!
An online competition for Actors wanting to learn, improve, and have the opportunities to be seen and connect with other actors and influential Industry experts and Casting Directors.

How our Summer Event has grown
The Mark Jermin Monologue Slam is a popular Solo Acting competition which has grown over the years catapulting some of its past participants and winners into brilliant roles on stage and screen.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Competition kicks off when your information arrives on 1st June. Running FULLY Online!
- Classes and Workshops will be offered via Zoom
- First round entries will be uploaded to a public social platform
- Second round entry will be performed live in a Zoom meeting
- An online grand final with actors performing live to an audience of previous contestants and a fantastic industry panel

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL ENTRANTS 🚨
All entrants will receive their Information packs and instructions on the 1st of June 2026, kicking off the Slam Festival for the month!
Across several weeks you will attend LIVE online classes, have opportunities to submit monologues and be assigned set pieces to perform.
Our final rounds taking place in the last two weeks of June, leading up to our LIVE FINAL on Sunday 28th of June!
All LIVE Slam Festival Events will run during the following times. All entrants will be allocated to a timeslot in their welcome pack, so you know when you are needed!
- Thursday 4:30pm-9:30pm
- Friday 4:30pm-9:30pm
- Saturday 9am-3pm
- Sunday 9am-3pm

Helpful Info : MJ SLAM FESTIVAL
You will gain classes and guidance on choosing and delivering a monologue, you will gain the skills to explore writing your own monologue, and have the opportunity to upload your 2 performances shared on a industry buzzing social platform. You will gain a third additional piece for your repertoire and have a small group opportunity to perform that 3rd piece to an Industry Expert receiving verbal feedback. The opportunity to appear in our live final judged by a panel of Industry Experts
Each year the Monologue Slam has grown in size and prestige, has offered both in person and online opportunities to participate, and finalists and actors have performed at The Other Palace, RADA Studios, and ArtsEd London as their platform for performances.
Our MJ Slam Festival is Going FULLY Online. And is taking over the entire month of June! Ensuring EVERYONE can take part in the competition for Actors wanting to learn, improve, and have the opportunities to be seen and connect with other actors and influential Industry experts and Casting Directors.
As it is online, you can be anywhere in the world to take part! No travel, no fixed venue allows us to open and share this platform with our students far and wide!
We ask every entrant to have 2 x monologues of their own choice prepared (ideally contrasting in styles / genres / era / character etc)
And during the competition you will be given a Third Monologue to add your repertoire!
